ATRAD wins engineering and export awards

The Electronics Industry Association (EIA) held their Annual Dinner
on 17th October at the Radisson Hotel in Adelaide where the EIA Awards
for 2002 were announced.
The event was well supported by ATRAD staff who thoroughly enjoyed the
following successes of the evening.
ATRAD was runner up in the The EIA Export Excellence Award (Corporate) 2002
award. In addition, ATRAD was highly commended for the incremental increase
in export sales for 2001-2002 over the previous two years and also for the
development of existing and new export markets. Pictured at left is ATRAD
CEO Mr Rob Silva with the runner up certificate.
ATRAD won the major award of the evening, the Telstra-EIA
$7,500 Engineering Excellence Award for an Individual or Team
Engineering project that was conceived and successfully engineered to a
proof of concept or product stage. The criteria was:
- Originality of concept
- Ability of concept to meet the design objectives
- Relative advantage of concept to alternatives
- Quality-meeting design objectives and challenges
- Effectiveness in meeting design cost and time targets
- Exploitation of concept
The successful project presented by Bruce Johnson (pictured above holding
the award plaque) was the new MF Radar design as delivered to IAP and
installed in Andoya, Norway.
