ATRAD wins engineering and export awards

October 2002
The Electronics Industry Association (EIA) held their Annual Dinner on 17th October at the Radisson Hotel in Adelaide where the EIA Awards for 2002 were announced.

The event was well supported by ATRAD staff who thoroughly enjoyed the following successes of the evening.

ATRAD was runner up in the The EIA Export Excellence Award (Corporate) 2002 award. In addition, ATRAD was highly commended for the incremental increase in export sales for 2001-2002 over the previous two years and also for the development of existing and new export markets. ATRAD won the major award of the evening, the Telstra-EIA $7,500 Engineering Excellence Award for an Individual or Team Engineering project that was conceived and successfully engineered to a proof of concept or product stage. The criteria was:

  • Originality of concept
  • Ability of concept to meet the design objectives
  • Relative advantage of concept to alternatives
  • Quality-meeting design objectives and challenges
  • Effectiveness in meeting design cost and time targets
  • Exploitation of concept

The successful project presented by Bruce Johnson (pictured above holding the award plaque) was the new MF Radar design as delivered to IAP and installed in Andoya, Norway.
