Meteor Radar Hits 10,000

The Svalbard meteor radar reached a new milestone in achieving daily count rates of over 10,000 unambiguous meteors during late June. The radar is consistently achieving count rates of over 7,000.

To our knowledge, this performance is significantly better than any similar radar on the market at this time.

The radar is operated by the University of Tromso, Norway on behalf of the National Institue for Polar Research (NIPR), Japan.
