New MF radar for Juliusruh, Germany

Following the successful installation of the MF Radar for the Andoya Rocket Range in Norway, The Leibniz-Institute for Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Kuehlungsborn, Germany has ordered a second system for installation at Juliusruh in Germany. The Juliusruh site is on an Island off the northern coast of Germany.

Members from the Leibniz-Institute will visit ATRAD in December 2002 to check the electromagnetic compatibility of the transmitter and to inspect the radar system. They will also undergo training on the operation and maintenance of the radar system.

The radar system will be delivered and installed in February/March 2003 and have a nominal 64kW output power.
