Design and manufacture of atmospheric radar systems

ATRAD supplied an 8kW EMDR Enhanced Meteor Detection Radar to STEL Japan / University of Tromso for installation at Bear Island in Norway. Bear Island is the southernmost island of the Norwegian archipelago Svalbard, situated halfway between the arctic circle and the north pole. The University of Tromso are providing the Antenna array and final commissioning is expected to occur in the first half of 2007.
