Buckland Park MF radar - Differential Amplitude and Phase Results

Left: The hourly averaged amplitude ratio (yellow) and the corresponding average reflection coefficient ratio (green). The amplitude ratio is ratio of the amplitude of the extraordinary mode signal to the ordinary mode signal as measured by the radar. The reflection coefficient ratio is estimated using model estimates of the electron-ion collision frequency (based on partial pressure) and magnetic field strength and alignment.

Right: Phase difference between extraordinary and ordinary modes (differential phase) profile. The yellow line is the observed phase difference while the green line is the value computed from the reflection coefficients.
